TheMHS AwardsThe Mental Health Service Awards of Australia and New Zealand

Entries for Research Awards now open.

Mental health research is essential to the development of effective and informed strategies to improve the lives of those living with mental health problems. In 2017, TheMHS will be recognising the great work that researchers are doing by awarding the following research awards:


TheMHS Awards for Early Career Research in Mental Health 

Launched in 2015, TheMHS Awards for Early Career Research in Mental Health (ECR Awards) will be presented in the following 3 categories:

  • Innovation
  • Best Practice
  • Excellence

These awards are intended for early career researchers (ECRs) whose work is beginning to make a significant impact in mental health research.

The winners are expected to present their award winning research at a special symposium at TheMHS Conference 29 August - 1 September 2017 in Sydney, Australia.



The Tom Trauer Evaluation and Research Award

Celebrating excellence in research and evaluation

Launched in 2014, this award recognises an Australian or New Zealand person or research team for excellence in their work in research or evaluation of mental health services and programs. 

The award celebrates Tom’s substantial and generous contributions to mental health services research over many years.  The award has been inaugurated by TheMHS in order to encourage and recognise excellence in research related to mental health services and programs.
